SYSPRO delivers enterprise visibility to Frontier

K3 has won a contract to supply a fully integrated SYSPRO enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to market-leading medical device company Frontier Medical Group. Go-live of the 30-user system is expected by the end of June 2009. The new solution replaces Frontier’s original and separate business systems, centralising critical information into an easy to use and secure single data resource. This will deliver full visibility of real-time data across its four divisions.

K3 will supply Frontier with a comprehensive range of SYSPRO modules covering manufacturing, distribution, accounts and human resources. With this tailored package of modules, the company will gain more control of its manufacturing processes, bolster its Lot Traceability and make it easier to manage inventory and quality. In addition, Frontier will benefit from a fully integrated CRM system that provides a seamless link to essential customer information.

“SYSPRO will replace our old inflexible systems with an elegant solution that will integrate all areas of our business. We anticipate that SYSPRO will provide a user-friendly centralised system giving full business-wide visibility. It will help optimise our production scheduling and also provide us with the flexibility we need from our IT as we take the company forward,” said Nick Davis, Group Managing Director of Frontier Medical Group.

Frontier has four product divisions and is one of the leading suppliers of medical consumables and devices to healthcare providers worldwide. Its innovative Repose product line comprises a range of pressure area care devices that have successfully treated more than 1 million patients and is the most popular pressure redistribution mattress in the UK.

Frontier’s Sharpsafe is the world’s first purpose designed disposable plastic sharps container and there are more of these devices in circulation throughout Europe than any other similar products. The company’s Exchange range of bespoke needle exchange packs are another market leader and these are used throughout the NHS’ harm reduction services. Frontier also provides sterile dressings and other disposables to the NHS via its joint venture company Frontier Multigate.

“SYSPRO will help us to maintain our leading position in the medical market. This is a very competitive market and it is important that we take advantage of new technology that will help us to stay ahead of the competition. We expect that the new system will help us to make improvements and boost efficiency levels across the business thereby reducing costs and enhancing our customer service levels,” concludes Nick Davis.
