It has now been 12 months since K3 merged together the UK’s two Syspro distribution channels into one business. It has been a period of significant change and restructuring for the business at a time when we have also faced the challenges of delivering an increasing volume of projects to both new and existing customers.

Over the last 12 months we have delivered in excess of 22 new systems, and numerous new modules, upgrades and development projects to existing users. Our revenues are now approaching £12 million making us the UK’s largest ERP supplier in our sector.

Sadly part of the change involved saying farewell to staff in certain areas of business but this has been more that compensated for by recruitment in the areas of both application and network support, implementation, project management, sales, administration and marketing. In total we have recruited 10 new staff (or in excess of 10% of our headcount) and we are still looking for more.

Many of our customers will also know that we now have a new management team who are working hard to ensure that we deliver a responsive and high quality service. This team has been entirely promoted from within and as such has a wealth of experience which they are applying to the new business.

For the coming year our highest priority is to improve quality in every area of the company from contract administration, through delivery and development to telephone support. Some of this will be achieved by training and people management but we are also embarking on gaining ITIL accreditation. ITIL (Or Information Technology Infrastructure Library). This is an international, government managed standard for the delivery of IT services and systems and can either be adopted as a blueprint for running a business like K3 or used selectively to help improve various areas of our operations. At its ultimate level it involves all our staff being accredited and audited and the award of an ISO certification.

We are just embarking on what could be a two or three year project to adopt all or part of ITIL and you can expect to hear a great deal more about this in the future.
